Founded in 2015 by caring Oregonians with many years of support service experience, Lifesource has grown into a vital support hub in Portland, committed to community-centered services that uplift and empower individuals. Dena enjoys helping DSPs provide quality care by drawing from her decades of experience as a caregiver, recreational therapist and educator. Presence, respect and building connections are pillars of caregiving that Dena hopes to instill in the DSPs under her guidance. Dena has been educating others on disability issues since the late 8
Dena enjoys helping DSPs provide quality care by drawing from her decades of experience as a caregiver, recreational therapist and educator. Presence, respect and building connections are pillars of caregiving that Dena hopes to instill in the DSPs under her guidance. Dena has been educating others on disability issues since the late 80's: teaching college classes, training childcare providers, connecting self-advocates with legislators to address the needs of the I/DD community and editing a monthly radio show on disability justice. In younger years she was a storyteller, musician and yoga instructor. Now in her spare time, she hugs trees, creates abstract art and enjoys cooking pots of soup to share.

Emily has worked in the I/DD field since 2021, with a background in supported living services. She joined Lifesource in late 2025 and loves being part of a team that focuses on helping people live authentically and reach their goals. Emily has worked in the I/DD field since 2021, with a background in supported living services. She joined Lifesource in late 2025 and loves being part of a team that focuses on helping people live authentically and reach their goals. Emily's best days at work are the ones where she gets to support someone in building confidence, trying something new, or taking a step toward the life they want. That’s what keeps her coming back!
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors and getting creative with different craft projects. She is passionate about continuing to build a world where everyone is recognized, valued, and celebrated for their unique abilities.

Seven short years ago, Kathy became a DSP with Lifesource after a long career working with families as a Head Start Early Childhood Educator and Home Visitor. With lots of team encouragement and on-the-job learning, she came to love the experience, and was able to carry on her passion of working with people in their own habitats and communities. Kathy considers each client as her guide and teacher in the process of helping them reach their full potential. She carries that same value into her work as a Provider Resource Manager, orienting newly hired Lifesource DSPs and assisting Family Provider DSPs with their unique and important roles. Working as both a DSP and a Manager with Lifesource allows her to stay grounded in the lived experiences and challenges that clients and employees experience in today's world.
